In everyday life, we encounter, more than once, products which are broken or whose function is impaired. Occasionally, we are witnesses to accidents occurring when a specific item breaks. Failure investigation is aimed at finding out the direct causes for a product’s impaired function and / or defect function as well as locating specific causes for said failure.
The Institute of Forensic Science concerns itself with finding out the reasons for a product’s failure to function and / or failure to function properly as well as locating specific causes for said failure.
The Institute of Forensic Science carries out failure investigations which provides answers to the following:
- What is the direct reason for the failure?
- Where problematic additives added to the failed product in the course of its use?
- What are the f actors which contributed to the failure?
- Would it have been possible to avoid this failure, and if so, how?
Failure investigation allows us to know who or what is responsible for the failure as well as to understand how to prevent the next failure.
With the help of failure investigation, it is possible to support or eliminate versions (testimonies) of the interested parties involved.
Failure investigation is of importance in the areas of damages, traffic accidents and insurance claims.
